Recognition of Researchers at the Action Research Convention, Samtse HSS

The Action Research Convention organized by Samtse Higher Secondary School served as a platform for educators to share innovative practices and research findings aimed at enhancing teaching and learning. Five dedicated researchers were recognized for their outstanding contributions and were presented with certificates and trophies as a token of appreciation by the school’s Principal, Mr. Tshuelthrim Dorji.
Mr. Mani Wangdi shared valuable insights on the impact of ability grouping in teaching mathematics, emphasizing how grouping strategies can influence student performance. Mrs. Suman Dorji and Mr. Diwash Sundas presented on teaching geography using an interdisciplinary approach, highlighting the benefits of connecting geography with other subjects to improve student understanding and engagement. Mr. Pemba Tshering impressed the audience with his research on assessing Bhutan’s vegetation health using MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer), showcasing the integration of technology and environmental science. The Vice Principal, Mr. Rinzin Dorji, discussed the concerning trend of secondary students’ attitudes toward learning chemistry, focusing on the declining interest and performance over recent years.
The event not only celebrated the researchers’ efforts but also inspired educators to adopt evidence-based practices and foster a culture of inquiry and continuous improvement within the school community.
