Samtse Higher Secondary School

The school accorded a warm and respectful welcome to Dasho Dzongdag with a guard of honour presented by the leadership scouts. In his welcome address, the Principal offered heartfelt congratulations and prayers on Dasho’s visit to Samtse Dzongkhag. He highlighted the school’s journey since its establishment in 2006 with all three academic streams, and its current status of serving over 700 students from classes VII to XII, supported by 44 teaching staff and 14 support personnel. The Principal shared key milestones, including the establishment of the ACC Messenger with the Integrity Club in 2017, recognition as a Bhutan Baccalaureate (BB) school, and its readiness as an inclusive school in 2025 with trained faculty. The school integrates the national curriculum with BB and Cambridge-aligned frameworks. Academic excellence was noted with national toppers from 2016 to 2019 and again in 2025 under BCSEA, reflecting steady progress. Achievements in non-academic areas such as arts, STEM, and girls’ basketball were also acknowledged. However, challenges remain in infrastructure, including classroom space, drinking water, ICT labs, and smart facilities. Dasho, in his address, emphasized redefining success through continuous growth, meaningful application of knowledge, and upholding Driglam Namzha alongside academic excellence. He stressed cleanliness, reading, cultural preservation, and wholehearted effort in all endeavors. Dasho reaffirmed support for education and health sectors and shared updates on developmental initiatives in Samtse. The program concluded with Tashi Delek and offering of khadar to the school councillors.
