At Samtse Higher Secondary School, we successfully observed National Earthquake Mock Drill Day this evening under the theme,'Prepare Today for a Safe Tomorrow.' The event was aimed at educating and preparing both students and staff on how to respond effectively in case of an earthquake. The drill began with a simulation of an earthquake, followed by a series of evacuation procedures. All students, teachers, and staff members practiced the Drop, Cover, and Hold On technique before safely evacuating to designated assembly areas. Our teams then performed a headcount and debriefed on how to improve response time and coordination. This exercise serves as a critical reminder of the importance of readiness and proactive safety measures. With earthquakes being a significant concern, it’s vital that we equip ourselves with the necessary skills to protect one another in times of crisis. We are proud to have demonstrated our commitment to safety today and will continue to strengthen our preparedness for future challenges.
